Monthly Housing Stats (Crossfield AB)

Employment has shifted in the City of Calgary, with job growth occurring in our non-traditional sectors and often at a different pay scale. This is consistent with the shift to more affordable housing product," said CREB® chief economist Ann-Marie Lurie. Employment and stability are very important factors when looking at the housing market and overall consumer affordability and being a commuter Town, is still something worth watching.

Properties at higher price points are taking longer to sell in most areas due to what current buyers can afford and are willing to spend with the economic instability. Being educated on the current market condition and having patience is key. Sellers must also have realistic expectations when it comes to a price entry point for properties they plan to put on the market.

Are you a buyer? Well, you have a lot of options but if your budget puts you in a lower price point, just know that the ones priced well and in great condition may not last because the larger buyer pool is looking for affordable housing too!
