FALL in Love with Crossfield
FALL is upon us and when I thought about my Blog and what I should write about next, it seemed only natural to do a Fall post. Rather than go into all the things I love about fall…sweaters, pumpkin spiced latte’s, beautiful fall coloured leaves, brisk walks, a roaring inside fire and the anticipation of Christmas (oops couldn’t help myself); I thought I would put my focus back on the Town of Crossfield. It has so much to offer and I am hoping today my readers will “Fall in Love with Crossfield” (and then ring me up immediately to help them sell their home and buy one here)!!
Rural Rebound has been a trend now for a while and it refers to the movement away from cities to rural and suburban areas. You see it happening with Calgary’s surrounding communities like Okotoks, Chestermere, Airdrie and Cochrane but those Towns/Cities get too big and then people want an alternative…a slower pace. I believe that Crossfield has already begun to be a rural rebound community with Airdrie’s rapid growth and I can tell you from experience that the Town of Crossfield is that slower pace you and your family may be craving. As the Town gets a little bit bigger, more amenities are bound to follow but in the meantime, there are a number of in Town amenities and activities nearby such as Apple Creek Golf Course, Collicutt Golf Club, PaSu Farm, Banta Park (with Splash Park and Farmers Market in the Summer), fitness classes, various groups and clubs and other parks and pathways. There are shopping options as well, drug stores, banks, hair salons, home based businesses, a hardware store, restaurants and café’s, various industry and gas and grocery. If we do not have the amenity you want the City is only 15 minutes away (that is actual driving, not just sitting in traffic).
According to the 2016 Census the average age in Crossfield was 38.5 and the population was 2983. In fact, Alberta Municipal Affairs recently released their official audited 2016 assessment list and Crossfield was ranked number 3 on the list for fastest growing Towns in Alberta. As I mentioned in a previous blog, Crossiron Mills, Century Downs Racetrack and Casino and the addition of the New Horizon Mall, and its proximity to Calgary, make Crossfield an ideal location to live. You continue to get the small-Town community feel with a short commute to all City amenities and entertainment.
