Authentic Relationships & Core Values

I attended the Rural Women in Business Conference in Crossfield, Alberta yesterday and one of the reoccurring themes was based on building authentic relationships. What does it mean to be authentic? Websters Dictionary defines authentic as "real or genuine : not copied or false."

When operating a business people can sometimes become so laser focused on selling their product or pushing their service, that the relationships can't develop or are lost.
